What are the Pineapple Salsa ingredients?
- Pineapple Chunks: Use the firm pineapple chunks. Avoid using the mushy/soft pineapple pieces as they will make the salsa watery.
- Bell Peppers: I have used Green and Red bell peppers.Try using Yellow also for more vibrant colors.
- Tomato: Many people do not use tomato in fruit salsa recipes but I have added it and trust me that's awesome.
- Onion: Onion plays a vital role in salsa. The onion taste makes the salsa unique in its own.Do not skip this but if you can't stand onion then you can try using a little of onion powder too.
- Jalapeno: Use Jalapeno as per tolerance of spice. Use seeded and ribs removed, finely chopped. You can always increase or decrease the spice level as per tolerance.
- Spices: I have used Sugar,Salt,Black Pepper Powder,Cumin Powder,Red Chili powder.
- Lime Juice & Cilantro: I have used lime juice in this recipe. It adds extra something to all the recipes and love that flavor of lemon.
- Using Cilantro is optional. Some people cant stand cilantro, then go ahead and use some parsley or totally skip it.

What variations I can try in Pineapple Salsa? How can I make Pineapple Jalapeno Salsa different?
You can add any vegetables / fruits that you love to have in this salsa recipe.
Try adding Mangoes chunks to it and the combination of sweet ,spicy and sour will be mind blowing!
Add tomatoes like how I did in this recipe . It's not necessary that you should add tomatoes only in regular salsa recipe.
Another interesting variation will be to make this salsa in a blender.
To make pineapple salsa in blender, you just need to pour all the ingredients in a blender along with spices mentioned and blend it till slightly coarse mix and enjoy with your choice of snack or on chicken.
Pineapple Salsa Recipe Tips:
- Use fresh ingredients as much as possible to get best out of this recipe flavors.
- You can use any variety of bell peppers as per choice.
- Use of tomato is optional. Since the pineapple can be a bit sour plus lime juice will be added to the recipe so adding tomato or to skip it is personal choice.
- Add the jalapeno chopped as per personal tolerance of heat.
- If you mix the salsa and serve it immediately you wont get the right flavors.Keep it aside for few minutes and serve chilled or at room temperature for the flavors to mingle.
- The more time you leave it either at room temperature or refrigerated the juices from fruits and veggies will make the salsa watery/with juices.
- Also the more time you leave the salsa the dish wont be very fresh looking and also veggies will slightly be soggy.
- Instead of adding cilantro you can opt for fresh chopped parsley too.
- Optionally you can add chopped mango, chopped strawberry to the salsa to get more colors and flavors.
- The salsa can be refrigerated and used max up-to 4 days.
